James Dobson Doesn't Speak for Me

Yes? No? What do you think?

From Monday Morning Insight:

In an ironic move, President Bush's 'pastor' Kirbyjon Caldwell has started a pro-Obama website. According to JamesDobsonDoesntSpeakforMe.com, "Dr. James Dobson recently attacked Barack Obama for a 2006 speech that Obama gave on his Christian faith. Does he speak for you?"

"I think he's deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology," Dobson said.

To suggest that someone else's "theology [is] confused" to me sounds like you think you know best, have all the answers, to quote our mutual friend Luke: "You see the whole elephant"....

Dobson took aim at examples Obama cited in asking which Biblical passages should guide public policy

So the examples that Obama gives do not apply, but Dobson thinks there are others that do? Shouldn't they all apply to begin with?

...or Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, "a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application."

So yeah, he doesn't speak for me... I try to speak for me, just a shame they won't let me when election time comes around ;-)

Peace,
